Psychotherapy sessions are typically 50 to 60 minutes.

During our very first conversation I will ask specific questions about your ideas, goals, and current struggles. This will enable us to decide which therapist you be the best fit for you. If you have a specific therapist you wish to see we will make every effort to connect you with that therapist. We will discuss payment options and what the next steps are. You can ask any questions you have to get to know Rising Sun or a specific therapist. If we agree to move forward I will provide you with instructions to connect virtually or provide directions to the office. If we discover that you may better benefit from something or someone else I will do my best to point you in the right direction.

This first conversation is to explore what the journey may look like as we work together. During our first meeting we will review some basics, such as paperwork and policies within Rising Sun Therapy. We will then review the paperwork you have submitted and discuss your previous experiences with therapy. I like to find out what worked and what didn't.

The goal for the first session is to get to know one another and elaborate on your goals and desires for therapy. If you don't know, that's ok too! It is very common and normal to be nervous when you meet someone new. I do my very best to create a safe place for you to share what's on your heart and mind without judgement.
